TMCF | Advanced Tech Scholarship

Scholarship Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Eight (8)  scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship of up to $7,500 for the 2025-2026 academic school year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in two installments: one during the Fall 2025 semester and the second during the Spring 2026 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate junior or senior at a HBCU during the 2025-2026 academic year in the Washington D.C. metro area:

    • Bowie State University

    • Coppin State University

    • Howard University

    • Morgan State University

    • University of Maryland Eastern Shore

    • University of the District of Columbia

  • Open to STEM majors in the information technology domain with a preference for cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Majors may include computer science, systems engineering, machine learning, data science/analytics, management information systems, and related fields

  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher

  • Must have the 2025-2026 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection

  • Must be able to demonstrate a financial need

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

  • Preference for students who are interested in serving the public good

Scholarship Allocation: 

The eligible total amount will be funded in two disbursements for the 2025-2026 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract.
