BU Live: Is There More? is a powerful, immersive stage experience that fuses history, culture, and future into one unforgettable journey.

Through precision drumming, emotionally charged dance, spoken word, and live performance, BU Live challenges limitation, confronts belief, and celebrates Black excellence as a standard—not a slogan.

This is not a show you simply watch.
It is an experience you feel.

The Experience

This year’s BU Live is designed as a moving visual narrative—part documentary, part theatrical production.

The audience is guided through moments of:

  • Reflection
  • Tension
  • Discipline
  • Growth
  • Triumph

Youth performers across three stages of life—elementary, middle school, and high school—all confront the same defining question:

Is there more than what I see, what I’ve been told, and what I’ve accepted?

How the Story Is Told

BU Live does not rely on dialogue alone.

It speaks through movement, rhythm, and sound.

  • Drumming drives urgency, discipline, and power

  • Dance expresses emotion, struggle, and evolution

  • Spoken word anchors the experience in truth, history, and purpose

The result is a theatrical roller coaster— quiet at times, explosive at others— designed to pull the audience fully into the journey.
